Old Tappan Water Damage Cleanup Leaves Furnishings in Place
SERVPRO techs tackled the water damage in this Old Tappan home. The homeowner had a large number of furnishings and a very wet carpet which made the cleanup a challenge. Whenever possible, the technicians try to leave as many of the contents as possible in place to limit the disruption to the home during the restoration efforts. The techs needed to extract the water and run drying equipment on the carpet to make it safer and lighter to handle. A saturated carpet has the potential to cause lifting injuries due to its sheer weight. As seen in the After Photo, the techs placed the furnishings up on blocks to dry the concrete substrate so the homeowner could get new carpeting installed.
